Requirements
- A member must be in good standing with their state crop improvement association
- Have raised and marketed certified seed for at least one year.
- Have presented a financial application.
- Shown the ability to produce and process certified seed to a high standard.
Rights
- This membership allows each member to access the full suite of Nu Horizon Genetics licensed varieties.
- An affiliate member will have one vote in Nu Horizon Genetics business.
Rules
- A per unit/fee may be assessed to the member for advertising of the varieties sold.
- All dues, royalties and fees will be paid to Nu Horizon Genetics.
- All seed stock will be accessed through Nu Horizon Genetics. A member shall provide yearly seed sold data for the calculation of royalties and fees.
- Each year the membership fee is to be paid on January 1 and royalties will be on December 31 each year.
- A membership may be canceled for failure to abide by the requirements listed above or actions that are deemed unethical by the board of Nu Horizon Genetics.
Categories
Affiliate Membership (Renewal) – $100 per year
- A member who applies for field inspection services of their appropriate state certification agency and uses the services of either a custom or approved conditioner to prepare seed for marketing channels and/or actively markets wholesale or retail, certified or registered seed. Application fee does not apply.
New/Non-Continuous Affiliate Membership – $200/first year
- Same definition as affiliate membership renewal and includes an application processing fee that will apply for all new affiliate memberships, and those affiliates that do not maintain a continuous membership.
Retail Facility – $100 per year
- A member who purchases certified seed from another member for the purpose of retailing the seed. If the seed is sold in bulk, the facility must have adequate facilities to maintain the genetic purity of the seed. Application fee does not apply.
Associate – $50 per year
- All other parties, who would not be included in any of the above classifications but are interested in furthering the goals of the Association, may become associate members without the right to vote. Application fee does not apply.
